Conversion Tracking Discrepancy

  • SteelHouse & Google Analytics (GA) use different tracking and attribution and methods to identify conversions with your ads. SteelHouse attributes a conversion to the last SteelHouse Ad View or Click. For most reports within GA, GA attributes credit to the last marketing visit, regardless of source
    • IE: example, if a visitor clicks a SteelHouse ad & then later returns to your site via organic search & converts, SteelHouse will attribute the conversion to the our campaign while GA will attribute the conversion to an organic search
  • SteelHouse defaults to a 30-day conversion attribution window while GA preserves campaign attribution up to 6 months for most reports
  • SteelHouse also tracks view-through conversions, while GA tracks conversions that occur after a click that subsequently begins a GA visit
